This website captures our Old Dominion University study abroad course to Senegal. As a group of 18 students based in Norfolk, Virginia, we set out to immerse ourselves in Senegal, through a framework that centered on women’s lives and experiences.
This website provides an interactive account of our journey throughout the “Senegal: Women in Politics, Language and Arts” course in Dakar, as well as our continued work with Senegal upon returning to the United States. Our group is working and studying from the heart, and not for personal profit. Our time, energy and passion is dedicated to furthering the status of women, in particular, in Senegal, so that we may continue to build meaningful connections through relationships with community leaders and organizations.
Our hope is to educate others and thereby broaden and unify our wider network of individuals and groups committed to improving the lives of Senegalese communities.
We hope you will join us to make a difference and leave wherever you are, better than you found it. Thank you for visiting us!
